Addressing oral health inequalities is a major public heath challenge. Individual clinicians, dental teams and policy makers all have an important role to play in supporting their patients and populations to improve their oral health. This presentation will highlight the evidence base for effective action to combat oral health inequalities in both clinical and community settings. It is essential that action to promote oral health equity focuses on the underlying causes of oral health inequalities and adopts a common risk approach to prevention. Establishing effective partnerships with relevant local, national and international stakeholders is fundamental to achieve success.
